Position:         Mechanical Job Instructor

Job Description:

PURPOSE:

Support competency-based development plans by conducting Operational and Technical Training activities for UAE National Developees at the GTTC to meet with the job’s operational and technical requirements and ensure that Developees are ready for their further development at the sites.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in concerned Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification in Training & Development
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience as Technical / Classroom Training / Coaching within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry

BACKGROUND:

The company is continuously going through major development and expansions to increase its processing capacity to meet the high continuous demands for its products, and to cope with the latest development in the gas processing technology. GASCO’s complexity has increased through addition of new facilities, expansion of its current plants and integration with offshore gas and Dolphin Energy with high priority given to continuously improve & sustain Asset Integrity of aging plants and Process & Occupational Safety. An ambitious target of achieving 75% Nationalization by 2009  has been set by GASCO and this can only be accomplished by developing the English Language abilities, operational and technical competencies of UAE National Developees for positions where they can replace experienced expatriate staff in a relatively short time.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives
  • Train and develop the trainee’s staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the  job and deliver the respective section objective
  •  Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards
  •  Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations
  • Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives
  •  Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
  •  Contribute to the achievement of  the approved Performance Objectives for the Section in line with the Company Performance framework
  •  Design and implement new teaching tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of   learning processes
  •  Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the functio
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practice
  • Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for GASCO Management
  • Review operational / technical practices and procedures in order to develop Technical training activities that support such requirements.
  • Develop and conduct respective competency-based technical training activities (in line with the employees’ development plan) which support the employees’ development and integration into an established position.
  • Ensure all relevant technical training activities conducted are in compliance with current operational requirements and HSE policies and procedures and respective approved curriculum.
  • Develop and administer theoretical and practical assessment tests for operators, technicians and engineering developees to ensure their technical training activities achieve the desired training requirements.
  • Organize plant orientation visits for the trainee’s where requireds.
  • Provide class room and workshops technical training to the operators, technicians in the respective field as per the approved lesson plans.
  • Conduct monitoring assessment as per the established personal development plans requirements.
  • Provide refresher training to trainee’s observed to be lacking towards attainment of desired learning objectives during the stipulated time frame, when requested by Section Heads.
  • Discuss and document the developees’ training program when required with the Section Head in order to ensure the training efforts are integrated and effective.
  • Document, maintain and update technical training information on developees and produce training status reports for management review.
  • Participate in the development of technical training plan when required, analyse and evaluate proposed training courses to ensure the courses support the developees’ operational / technical training objectives and requirements. 
  • Preserve all the relevant training related records till its prescribed retention time period. 
  • Ensure specific adherence to HSE requirement by all the trainee’s at all the time.
